Worst Helmet Ever?

Two questions:

1. Is it on backwards?

2. At what point does venting become counterintuitive?

Discuss.

About Whit

My experiences might easily fit many cycling fans' definitions of “living the dream.” Since getting hooked on the sport watching Lance Armstrong win the 1993 U.S. Pro Championship, I've raced as an amateur on Belgian cobbles, traveled Europe to help build a European pro team, and piloted that team from Malaysia to Mont Ventoux. As a former assistant director sportif with Mercury-Viatel, I've also seen the less dreamy side of the sport – the side rife with broken contracts, infighting, and positive dope tests. These days, I live with my lovely wife in Pennsylvania and share my experiences and views on the sport at Bicycling Magazine, the Embrocation Cycling Journal, and at my own site, Pavé.

That's one fugly helmet. Not to mention the size of it. I like the old Limar helmets that Telekom used to have. Sleek. Well fitting. Didn't look like a large Igloo cooler on your head.

  2. Mattio says:

    Oh, that's awful.

  3. Greg says:

Bring back the Rudy Project "Hairnet
2.0!" http://ow.ly/3FlNM Or just bring Ludo back.
It's probably never left his head since retiring.

Is it supposed to tan the makers logo into your forehead?
Such good marketing, I'm sure it will become the next thing in how to look PRO lists!

    that's perfect – for freds…

does euskaltel have to wear it all year long? that's arguably a worse look than footon last season.

  7. Ryan says:

Wow. I would think Euskaltel would want to minimize weight
up high — they're a little tippy as it is.

  8. Matt says:

I have a feeling Euskaltel wanted something overbuilt because their riders have such a hard time staying upright. It looks like an infant helmet for a bikeseat. Yikes!

  9. bigmike says:

Please tell me it's on backwards.

Hey, they're Basque, they do everything in their own, very quirky way.
