First Look: Team Geox-TMC Team Bike

The Good News: Team Geox-TMC has bikes.

The Bad News: This is the only one.

About Whit

My experiences might easily fit many cycling fans' definitions of “living the dream.” Since getting hooked on the sport watching Lance Armstrong win the 1993 U.S. Pro Championship, I've raced as an amateur on Belgian cobbles, traveled Europe to help build a European pro team, and piloted that team from Malaysia to Mont Ventoux. As a former assistant director sportif with Mercury-Viatel, I've also seen the less dreamy side of the sport – the side rife with broken contracts, infighting, and positive dope tests. These days, I live with my lovely wife in Pennsylvania and share my experiences and views on the sport at Bicycling Magazine, the Embrocation Cycling Journal, and at my own site, Pavé.

Sweet jesus, what an eyesore. Understated it ain't!What a shame, apart from the hideous graphics it's a pretty sweet ride. One things for sure, no way that is Sastre's bike…check out the seatpost height. He would have to stand on a phonebook just to swing his leg over the top tube.

I gotta say – I love a bright bike and a bright kit. When I'm squinting at a TV or computer screen, trying to see who's who, where, I like not having to wonder. Last year I could never tell RS, CdE, or BMC apart. I'm glad for this bike, for Euskatel's orange, Astana's blue, Movistar's helmets, etc. That's the point of our ridiculous garb – standing out.
