About Whit

My experiences might easily fit many cycling fans' definitions of “living the dream.” Since getting hooked on the sport watching Lance Armstrong win the 1993 U.S. Pro Championship, I've raced as an amateur on Belgian cobbles, traveled Europe to help build a European pro team, and piloted that team from Malaysia to Mont Ventoux. As a former assistant director sportif with Mercury-Viatel, I've also seen the less dreamy side of the sport – the side rife with broken contracts, infighting, and positive dope tests. These days, I live with my lovely wife in Pennsylvania and share my experiences and views on the sport at Bicycling Magazine, the Embrocation Cycling Journal, and at my own site, Pavé.

  1. Henry says:

Glad to see the argyle back. Sky, Garmin and Leopard kit had become indistinguishable from one another. Still looks clean and uncluttered but has some individual personality.

  2. Jeff B says:

Garmin and Sky are both distinguishing themselves from the black/blue/white armada for the Tour. Glad to see it, especially when I'll be watching choppy livestreams. Makes my life easier!

  3. Matt says:

I'm stoked about the argyle coming back! It's always been one of my favorite designs. Not your typical trade team fare.

  4. domesgique says:

Its almost as good as those Pave kits.

  5. Charlie says:

If you see that kit on the front you can expect Renshaw to ride past it at any moment.
